Mum and six kids forced to live in attic 'because landlords shun her large family'

A single mum and her six young children have been living in an attic for two years because she claims landlords are put off by her large brood.

Stacey Hartigan, from Limerick, Ireland, has been living in the overcrowded space in her mum's house since she spilt from her partner.

She claims she has pleaded with the council to find her alternative accommodation but has been told there’s a lack of four-bedroomed housing stock while private landlords have shunned her because of her six kids.

The 32-year-old told the Irish Mirror : “The council is a disgrace to be honest. "They tell me it’s illegal to give me a three bedroomed house with all the same six kids.
