MSP writes to Minister over proposed changes to neonatal care at University Hospital Wishaw

A Lanarkshire MSP has written to the Scottish Government over proposed changes to intensive neonatal care at University Hospital Wishaw.Central Scotland Labour MSP Monica Lennon has urged the Minister for Public Health and Women’s Health Jenni Minto to rethink plans for the neonatal intensive care model at the hospital announced as part of an NHS service redesign.Last week, NHS Lanarkshire expressed disappointment that Wishaw – along with hospitals such as Ninewells in Dundee and Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy – would not be one of the “specialist intensive care neonatal units” although the hospital would continue to provide care for babies born throughout Lanarkshire.
