We regularly clean our make-up brushes to ensure we don't put grime on our faces when we use them, but how often do you clean your hair brush?

In truth, probably not often enough, but you should think about giving it a go at least once a month as it turns out there's some pretty nasty stuff lurking on them.

Cleaning guru Mrs Hinch has shared her method for removing dirt from her brushes, showing off the process each step of the way - and the results are positively shocking.

She started by removing all the hair and then goes over the brush with a comb, to make sure it's all out. The next step is to run some hot (but not boiling) water in the sink and then put your brush or brushes into the water to soak.
