Houseplants are a lovely addition to the home, adding colour and fresh air to any room.But one less appealing thing that comes with owning indoor plants is the pesky black flies that can infest the shrubs.

Also known as fungus gnats, the critters burrow into a houseplant's soil and can quickly grow in numbers.They can often be mistaken for fruit flies and both bugs can be banished in similar ways.

Now, a group of knowledgeable cleaning enthusiasts have shared a hack they say permanently rids houseplants of gnats - all you need is some cinnamon.Fans of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch are known for sharing a wealth of tips and hacks for various DIY and scrubbing tasks.

With summer in full swing, they are now offering seasonal gardening advice - and the latest tackles pesky fungus gnats.The tip was shared on a Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips and Tricks Facebook page, after one group member went online to seek advice.

Charna Flam “Succession” has made Emmy history with its three lead actors, Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong, all earning nominations for lead actor in a drama — the most nods ever for a single show. Since the show’s premiere in 2018, the first three seasons of “Succession” have received 13 Emmys out of 48 nominations. Strong won the lead actor Emmy in 2020 and was also nominated in 2020, beating his co-star Cox both years. This year marks Culkin’s first lead actor nomination, and he was up for supporting actor in 2020 and 2022. Last year, “Succession” made Emmy history for the most acting nods ever, with 14 acting nominations out of 25 total nods. Oscilloscope Laboratories Buys ‘Once Within a Time,’ New Film From Experimental Legend Godfrey Reggio (EXCLUSIVE)

Brent Lang Executive Editor Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired North American rights to “Once Within a Time” from Godfrey Reggio, the experimental filmmaker behind the cult masterpiece “Koyaanisqatsi.” The indie studio will release “Once Within a Time” theatrically in the fall of 2023, following its premiere as part of The Museum of Modern Art’s film series “Total Cinema of Sight and Sound: Godfrey Reggio and Philip Glass,” which runs Sept. 26 – Oct. 4. The movie is co-directed by Jon Kane, with original music is composed by Philip Glass with additional music and vocals by Sussan Deyhim. Glass, a legendary experimental composer, first worked with Reggio on “Koyaanisqatsi,” which was “presented” by Francis Ford Coppola in 1982. Reggio and Glass have collaborated on seven films over the last four decades, including “Visitors,” “Evidence,” and “Anima Mundi.”
