Selfless Brendan O'Carroll paid some of his co-stars out of his own pocket after the show's tour hit the buffers. The 65-year-old dipped into his own savings to pay the cast and crew after the live event was cancelled due to Covid.

The 16-date Mrs Brown's Boys arena roadshow was shelved last year, leaving staff and stars seriously out of pocket. Brendan said making sure they didn't fall into difficulties was the top priority and he knew he had to stand up when the plug was called on the tour.
