A mountain biker was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being rescued by specialist teams at Rivington on Sunday morning (September 4).
The Bolton Mountain Rescue Team were contacted by the North West Ambulance service shortly before 9.30am to assist the injured mountain biker at the popular beauty spot.
Two Land Rover off-road ambulances arrived to deliver specialist equipment along with paramedics from NWAS's Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).
The causality was assessed and treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital in a 'serious' condition. The rescue mission lasted almost two hours and saw 15 specially trained team members attend the scene.
