A man has died after a crash involving his motorbike and a car which led to a busy main in Salford being sealed off for hours.
Emergency services were scrambled to Leigh Road in the Boothstown area of the city on Friday night (18 March) at around 7.10pm to reports of a serious collision.
Tragically, the rider of the motorbike - a man in his 30s - suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. No arrests have been made at this stage. Leigh Road was closed in both directions at the junction of Booth Hall Road on Friday evening for several hours as police and traffic collision investigators could be seen carrying out enquiries.
