Steven Hammell doesn’t listen to ‘outside noise’ or look at the Premiership table very often, but he wants to give Motherwell fans something to cheer about against Hibs on Sunday.The Steelmen are looking for their second home league win of the season when Lee Johnson’s Hibees come calling to ML1, and while Hammell says they’re not cut adrift from anyone, he knows January is a big month.Back-to-back home games against Hibs and Ross County are followed by a Scottish Cup fourth round clash at Championship strugglers Arbroath and a trip to St Mirren, which could see them rocket up the league table, should results go their way.With a 1-1 draw at Livingston and a 2-2 at home to 10-man Kilmarnock, either side of a bruising 3-0 defeat against Rangers at Ibrox, in their last three games, Hammell reckons his side isn’t far away.“It’s important that those three points come, it’s massive,” he said.“Home form this season is what has been missing; our away form has been good.“There have been some decent performances,, but there’s no secret that our home form is the difference between where we are just now, and where we want to be.“We need to pick up a couple of wins, and quickly.“We’re not far away, but I also realise the importance, especially with the couple of games we’ve got coming up, of picking up points – and as many as we can.“We’re hoping that over the next period in January, things like that turn around, because a it is tight.“We’re not cut adrift anywhere; the league is tight, there’s not much in it, in terms of quality.“I feel that we’ve been strong against every team we’ve played against, so we don’t feel like there’s any kind of level of difference between us and other teams in the league, the teams that we should be
