Motherwell were evacuated over reports of fumes coming from a house sparked an emergency response. Police and fire crews raced to a property in Merry Street at around 10.53pm on Tuesday September 9 after reports of 'a smell of gas'.
Cop cars, four fire engines, and a specialist vehicle were sent out to the scene. Ten people were evacuated from properties inside the building as a precaution as crews taped off the area.An investigation has now been launched into the incident.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.53pm on Tuesday, September 9 to reports of a smell of gas from within a flat on Merry Street, Motherwell."Four fire appliances and a specialist vehicle were mobilised to the scene, where crews.
