Mother-of-bride learns daughter is related to groom - and refuses to pay for wedding

When it comes to families and weddings, there can often be a lot of drama. One woman's wedding looked all set to go perfectly to plan and she was happily awaiting the big day, which her mother would be footing the bill for, when a massive bombshell was dropped.

In a post on Reddit's Am I The A**hole forum, the unnamed mother-of-the bride revealed how she'd recently been researching her family tree and had come to learn that her daughter and the groom were in fact distant cousins.

She was absolutely horrified by this discovery and immediately told her daughter she no longer approved of the union and couldn't possibly pay for the big day.
