Mosque plans to refurbish former mill building to allow functions and community use

manchestereveningnews.co.ukA a former mill building is set to converted into a modern space for functions and community use related to a mosque. Plans have been submitted in the past few days to partially demolish and refurbish Prospect Street Mill in Bolton.
The building, just north of the town centre and close to Blackburn Road, Halliwell, is next to the Masjid-e-Noorul Islam Bolton mosque.
The building is the last remaining part of the Prospect Mill complex where the original textile mill was built in 1864. In 1877 mill No 2 was built followed by mill No 3 in 1890.
In 1968 mills No 1 and 3 were demolished followed a few years later by mill No 2. The surviving four-storey building once connected to mill No 2 is the subject of the plans.
