An entitled generation is used to never being told no and takes 'pride' in disrespecting authority, the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police said.
Stephen Watson said that his beat officers are often told 'you can't tell me not to do that' when police challenge 'unacceptable' behaviour.
GMP's top cop told a fringe meeting at the Conservative Party conference that he wants to challenge this mindset. He said the 'sooner we correct that – however we do that – the better for all of us', the Daily Mail reports.
Ch Con Watson said: "I do think what has changed in large measure over recent times is we are growing a generation of people who have never had anybody say 'no' to them.
