Russell Martin admitted Swansea City have turned down a bid - reported to be “well short” - from his former club Rangers for Morgan Whittaker.
Ibrox boss Michael Beale has spoken of his admiration for the former Derby County winger, on loan at Plymouth Argyle earlier this season, and said how he expected the player, along with fellow target Todd Cantwell, to move in the January transfer window.
And former Scotland defender Martin, who had a spell on loan at Ibrox told the BBC: “We have rejected an offer from them, that's it.” In the BBC report, they say that the offer made by Rangers is “well short” of what the Welsh side’s American owners are looking for. Record Sport revealed earlier this week how the 22-year-old is keen to move to Ibrox.
Martin said last week that an offer had been turned down for Whittaker but from an unnamed club, with Ipswich Town also linked.
