Gardeners' World presenter Monty Don, 66, has come under fire a social media user for his back of the campaign to eradicate peat from garden compost.The Japanese Gardens' host was accused by the Twitter of "pushing for change" as he can afford to pay for a more environmentally- friendly but expensive alternative, which may prove to be an obstacle to those on lower incomes.Monty has made no secret of his wish to eliminate the use of peat in compost and at the end of last year signed a letter to the Environment Secretary calling for a complete ban on the product by 2025.However, his dedication to the climate-saving cause has ruffled feathers among some gardening enthusiasts on Twitter, who accused the move of being elitist.The BBC presenter.
