Moment two boys 'fall off' motorbike before it bursts into flames on tram tracks

Dramatic footage shows the moment a motorbike erupted into flames after crashing onto tram tracks in Droylsden. Emergency services raced to the incident, along Manchester Road and beside the Edge Lane Metrolink stop, on Thursday afternoon (May 9).

One witness claimed they saw 'two boys fall off' the motorbike before it crashed and lit up in flames. Onlookers could be seen standing and watching on in horror from the nearby tram stop.

Metrolink services were cancelled between Ashton and the Etihad Campus as emergency services attended the incident. Bus services were also diverted as emergency services dealt with the incident and fire crews battled the blaze. The Manchester Evening News understands the motorbike rider and passenger fled the scene on foot.

The condition of those involved has not yet been confirmed. Fire crews were in attendance for around 20 minutes until the blaze had been put out.
