Meeting on the grass after the men in white came out on top on 31 July, the happy trio stopped for pictures that will live long in the memory after Stuart, 37, signed off from professional cricket with a magical display of bowling to deny the Antipodeans a first series win on British soil for 22 years.
Announcing his imminent retirement last week, the future Hall of Famer told Sky Sports: "It's been a wonderful ride, a huge privilege to wear the England badge as much as I have and you know, I'm loving cricket as much as I ever have and it's been such a wonderful Series to be a part of, and I've always wanted to finish at the top." Asked when exactly he'd made this decision, Stuart revealed: "About 8.30 last night.
I've been thinking about it for a couple of weeks but you know, England vs Australia has always sort of been the pinnacle for me, I've loved the battles with Australia that have come my way personally.
