EXCLUSIVE: Derek Cianfrance‘s next film Roofman is starting to gain serious momentum, with Miramax landing domestic and international distribution rights.

The film stars Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst, and has Cianfrance directing after co-writing the script with Kirt Gunn. The film is based on the true story of Jeffrey Manchester, an inmate on the run who hides in a place no one would look for him — a toy store.

When this paradise of fun becomes a prison of loneliness, he falls for the one thing that can stop him from getting away … love.

Cianfrance’s longtime collaborators Jamie Patricof of Hunting Lane and Lynette Howell Taylor of 51 Entertainment will produce alongside Alex Orlovsky and Duncan Montgomery for High Frequency Entertainment and Duncan Sellers for Limelight.
