A five-year-old rescue dog is able run against the odds after life-changing spine operations. Rio the Terrier/Frenchie cross was a fighter and his owner, Emma Walsh, was determined not to give up on him.
After three major spinal surgeries and perseverance from Emma, the pup is now on the way to recovery and is miraculously walking.
Rio was saved from a Spanish mountain by the Rochdale women at Paws on Hearts two years ago, which was where Emma fell in love with the pup.
Sadly, the rescue suffered from multiple smashed discs along his spine which left him unable to walk or function properly. After one spinal surgery, Rio needed another operation to fix yet another group of smashed discs.
