Milo Ventimiglia is one of many who lost their home in the devastating LA wildfires. CBS Evening News was with the actor as he tearfully came to check on his home, where he and his wife, Jarah Mariano, have been preparing to welcome their first child together.
As he drove to the Malibu property in a segment aired on Thursday, he saw it all burnt to the ground, remarking, “Wow, man. Toast.” Oof. Related: Ben Affleck Leaves Jennifer Garner’s To Discover Fate Of His Home While holding back tears, the 47-year-old called the sight of his neighborhood and house “heavy,” expressing: As mentioned, he and his wife are expecting their first baby — she’s due “any day now,” per the reporter — and they had just prepared the nursery when the Palisades Fire broke out.
While they managed to escape in time on Tuesday, they watched their home get engulfed in flames via security cameras before the reality ultimately sunk in, he shared: So, so difficult, especially with a baby on the way!
As This Is Us fans know, this whole situation is also eerily similar to how his character, Jack Pearson — *spoiler alert* — dies in the show.
