The minimum wage will rise to £12.21 an hour from April next year after Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced a 6.7 per cent rise ahead of Wednesday's Autumn Budget.
Ms Reeves said the move is a “significant step” towards delivering on Labour’s manifesto promise to provide a “genuine living wage for working people”.
The 6.7 per cent increase to the national living wage, recommended by the Low Pay Commission, means that full-time workers on minimum wage will receive an extra £1,400 a year from April 2025. READ MORE: 'I've done it.
