Millie Bobby Brown has admitted that she does not have “many friends” as a result of her time spent making Stranger Things. The actor has played the psychokinetically talented Eleven in the Netflix series since it debuted in 2016, having been cast in the role when she was 12 years old.In a new interview with Vanity Fair, she has opened up about the huge impact that spending her teenage years filming the show has had on her life. “I don’t have many friends, because of who I am,” she says.“I didn’t go to school, so I don’t have the best social skills when it comes to people my own age and friendships,” she added. “I struggle with that quite a bit.

I missed out on a few things. But I’m working through them.”Brown, who turns 21 on February 19, was schooled privately on the set of the show and socialised largely with her castmates for much of that time.

The COVID-19 lockdowns further disrupted her social life between the ages of 16 and 18.Stranger Things fans, meanwhile, are eagerly awaiting the show’s fifth season.

The next run of episodes is expected to be split into two parts, just as season four was, although show creators the Duffer Brothers recently gave an interview to Variety in which they suggested that releasing any of season five in 2025 could be “quite the push”.“A lot of it hasn’t been decided, in terms of exactly the release dates and cadence,” said Matt Duffer. “That’s one reason I’m not allowed to talk about it.
