The controversy around the collapse of the royal marriage between Princess Diana and Prince Charles was extraordinary and was the centre of the media for some time, but it was heightened to another level with Andrew Morton’s tell-all book, Diana: Her True Story.The book - published in 1992 - covered Charles and Diana's loveless marriage, Charles’s alleged infidelity, and the princess’s struggles with bulimia, self-harm and suicidal thoughts. And heartbreakingly, when the marriage finally ended in 1996, Prince William told his mother he wanted to become a policeman to protect her in case she was stripped of her royal title. “He once told her he wanted to be a policeman so that he could protect her,” says royal expert Robert Jobson.

Prince William almost had a completely different name which Prince Charles had his heart set on, according to a royal historian.He was also known as "Baby Wales" before Charles and Princess Diana finally decided upon William. The Duke of Cambridge, who will celebrate his 40th birthday on Tuesday (June 21), could have been named Arthur when he was born in 1982.

Prince Charles, 73, and Prince William, 39, both reportedly stepped in to prevent Prince Andrew's return to public life at Royal Ascot and the Order of the Garter Ceremony.Andrew, 62, is understood to be enraged with his elder brother and nephew, who it is believed persuaded the Queen, 96, to stop Andrew from attending the full Order of the Garter Ceremony, which was presided over by his mother at Windsor Castle earlier this month.Instead, he was only seen at some parts of the Knights of the Garter Ceremony.Buckingham Palace reported that the Duke of York's absence from the Windsor Castle procession and Order of the Garter service was a "family decision".He did join the Queen at the formal investiture of new members of the Order of the Garter - including Tony Blair and Charles' wife the Duchess of Cornwall - and at the lunch afterwards.But his alleged bid to return to Royal duties has apparently been met with resistance from the two direct heirs to the throne, with Her Majesty supposedly telling Andrew to keep out of sight "for his own good". The Queen also missed Royal Ascot for the first time during her reign and was replaced in Saturday's Royal procession by the Duke of Kent, Andrew's eldest daughter Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Not far from home. Prince William may be gearing up to leave Kensington Palace behind, but the move isn’t likely to cause conflict with future king Prince Charles.

Throughout the Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this month, people across the country embraced the festivities and enjoyed events including Trooping the Colour and the Platinum Jubilee Pageant. Prince Louis is expected to attend a different junior school to his siblings, according to reports.The four-year-old — who cheekily charmed the nation with his naughty antics during the Platinum Jubilee — will not be enrolled at Thomas’s Battersea Junior School like his brother George and sister Charlotte.Instead, Louis is expected to start his formal education at the Independent Preparatory school in Lambrook near Ascot.It comes amid reports suggesting that his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton are planning to leave Kensington Palace and move out of London.Last year, Louis went to Willcocks Nursery School in Kensington, as his sister did previously.But, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reportedly planning to relocate to Windsor this summer, Charlotte and George are also expected to switch schools during the 2022/23 academic year.
