Microsoft has warned users of Windows 10 of an urgent need to upgrade due to new policies being introduced by the company. Initially released in 2015, Windows 10 is still widely used but Microsoft has said that people who still have it should upgrade soon.
This is because free support for Windows 10 is due to end from October this year. That means that anyone still using it may find that their system is more vulnerable to cyber attacks and viruses.
However, that support will remain in place if customers upgrade their software to Windows 11. Now, Microsoft is urging people to "upgrade immediately" to maintain the support, the Mirror reports.
Microsoft's Margaret Farmer said in a post on the company's website: "Well, it is official. Window 10 is being retired after October 14th, 2025 and will no longer be supported. "Your computer will still work.
