Edinburgh Airport has been hit with chaos during peak holiday season as a worldwide IT outage has sparked delays and huge queues.
Passengers have been lining up as far as outside the terminal building while the glitch began during the early hours of Friday.
Holidaymakers have reported missing their flights as others have complained about long waits and frozen departure boards.Edinburgh Airport acknowledged the problem as bosses said work is ongoing to resolve the issue.A statement reads: "An IT system outage means wait times are longer than usual at the airport.
This outage is affecting many other businesses, including airports. Work is ongoing to resolve this and our teams are on hand to assist where we can.
