Dundee United stronger - not to try to sell on. The United manager is delighted to have landed the Cameroon international in a deal from Spanish side Alaves.
Mellon believes it is a major coup and he can develop the midfielder in the Scottish Premiership. The United boss said: “In the market we’re in, and it’s great credit to the football club, that players have moved on. “But I don’t think we bring players here with a view to moving them on.“Sometimes opportunities come up that are too good for players and you have to let them go.“But we are not bringing players in to just sell them, we want to make this club successful and get results.” Mellon hopes regular first-team football at Tannadice will see the 22-year-old become a Cameroon.
