Mickey Rourke Thriller ‘Murder Motel’ Gets U.S. Distribution Via DeskPop
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: DeskPop Entertainment has acquired thriller Murder Motel, starring Oscar-nominee Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), Alexandra Grey, Jeremy Luke, James Russo, Noel Gugliemi, Nicholas Turturro, Glenn Plummer, Naomi Grossman, Jaime Zevallos, and Leila Almas Rose.
Home ent and genre specialist DeskPop will release on DVD and VOD on August 6th. This film was written and directed by Paul Tully.
The synopsis reads: “Engulfed in a gritty world as the prey of ruthless drug dealers, Mickey, a Neo-Nazi meth dealer, and Tonya, a beautiful trans woman, find themselves falling in love while seeking redemption in a 72-hour race against the clock.” The deal was negotiated between Jared Safier, CEO of Safier Entertainment, and Mat Levy, Executive Vice President of DeskPop Entertainment.
The film was produced by Jaime Zevallos and Leila Almas Rose, and executive-produced by Micaiah Robnett, Judd Azoulaya, and Jared Safier.
