Actress Michelle, 60, was the winner of the Actress in a Leading Role award for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Michelle made history as she became the first Asian woman to win the category at the Academy Awards. Her 83 year old mum Janet couldn't have been prouder as she watched her daughter scoop the gong alongside 100 members of her family and friends as they watched the Oscars live at the Dadi Cinema at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
When Michelle's name was read out, the atmosphere was of pure elation, as Janet burst into tears and tightly gripped the hand of the person next to her.
