Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.
Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.
Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon insists Michael Beale's Rangers career could suffer a major bodyblow if they crash out of the Scottish Cup.
However, Lennon reckons "inspiration" could emerge from the Londoner's "desperation" to win a trophy during his first season in the Ibrox hot seat.
The semi-final showdown offers Beale's last chance at silverware this season having already lost out on the Viaplay Cup final to Celtic, while Ange Postecoglou's men boast a massive 13 point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
The Northern Irishman reckons Rangers could be carrying a hangover into the clash at Hampden after slipping up in their last league outing before the semi-final to Aberdeen, and he reckons Beale's tenure may not survive another major knock.
