Metrolink is celebrating a milestone on the tracks - the busiest ever month for passengers in the tram network's 32-year history.
Transport bosses have revealed millions of people got on board in May - buoyed by high-profile events including the Great Manchester Run and Manchester City's Premier League title-winning parade, as well as packed-out concerts at Manchester Arena and Co-op Live.
Official figures show that during the month, a total of 4.1 million people travelled on the Metrolink system across Greater Manchester, setting a new record for monthly patronage - the number of passengers - since the network opened in 1992.
The previous record of four million was set in November 2019 and stood until this year.
