For several days, people across Greater Manchester have opened their curtains to be met with the same gloomy sight. Dull grey skies have lurked over the region with the sun failing to make an appearance.

Change could finally be just around the corner though, according to the Met Office. Similar mild, overcast conditions are expected to continue throughout the weekend.

But some sunshine is forecast for later this morning (Friday, November 8) in some parts of Greater Manchester. Sunny intervals are expected in eastern parts of Greater Manchester - including Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport and Tameside - between 10am to 1pm.
