The Met Office has issued yet more yellow weather warnings for snow and ice, with up to 5cm of snow predicted to fall in north England this week.
Drivers have been urged to take care and double check their route amid dangerous conditions and disruption on the roads. A fresh alert, covering the north of England including Greater Manchester, is now in place between midnight and 12pm on Wednesday January 17.
The forecaster warned a mixture of sleet, snow and ice could cause travel disruption, as it comes on top of one covering much of the North and Scotland all day on Tuesday.
The warning for Wednesday stretches from south Scotland to Stoke-on-Trent, including Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Newcastle, Leeds and parts of Sheffield.
