Met Office issues Christmas weather verdict with 'wintry showers' forecast

After several freezing stretches of weather last month, December has got off to a slightly milder start so far - and it looks like that is set to continue, at least in the short term.

The Met Office's latest long-range forecast predicts that the wet and windy weather we've had this week is set to continue at least until this weekend (December 7-8).

They predicted "colder, showery and windy conditions then following for the remainder of the weekend". The Met Office say this "should mean a good deal of dry weather, with overnight frosts along with morning fog patches for some regions".
