July has experienced an unseasonably wet month as rain and temperatures have regularly dipped below average. After a warm June, wind and rain has dominated most of July despite extreme temperatures across much of Europe as some countries experience dangerous heatwaves resulting in disastrous wildfires.
The Met Office has now issued an update on the weather forecast as we head into August. Scotland is set for more wind, rain and potentially stormy conditions as we head through the next month.
Forecasters expect a weather system to drift over the Atlantic, battering the UK as a whole with thunder and lightning from this weekend, the Express reports.Scotland is set to experience the worst of the weather from early on Saturday morning, with heavy rain forecast for much of the country mid morning.
However, conditions will dry up a little later in the day with sunny periods as it progresses into evening. Showers and periods of sun will continue into Sunday, with cloudy but dry weather into the evening.
