Forecasters have given their verdict on whether Scotland will see temperatures soar to 30C this weekend thanks to a plume of warm air rising from the south.Over the past few weeks, temperatures have been higher than average for this time of year, with the west of Scotland even being the warmest place in the UK last week. However, the weather is set to change for much of the country, due to the area of high pressure that was causing the settled conditions is set to move away, according to forecasters.
The Met Office has said that the high pressure will drift off towards Scandinavia this week, meaning the settled conditions we've been seeing will come to an end.
This is good news for those in England, as a spell of warm air moving in will push temperatures up to a sweltering 30C in some areas.
Storm Oscar, which has been named by the Spanish Meteorological Service (AEMET), will not impact the UK but will help to drive this warm plume of air.But unfortunately for Scotland, this change in weather won't have quite the same effect.
