The car was spotted being driven at 56mph in lane three of the motorway in the early hours of this morning (April 13). The road, near Blackley, was 'empty' at the time, police said.

The driver was reported on suspicion of having no insurance and on suspicion of driving without due care and attention. The car was also seized by officers.
