The Zutons and Echo & the Bunnymen joined Jamie Webster onstage at his recent homecoming concert in Liverpool – watch fan footage of those moments below. At Sefton Park yesterday (July 12), Webster invited several guest musicians during a section of the set that comprised entirely of covers. He began with a cover of Talking Heads’ ‘This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)’, where he was joined by singer-songwriter Brooke Combes, who performed as a support act earlier in the day.
After which, he invited The Zutons’ Dave McCabe for a cover of the band’s ‘Valerie’, while Echo & the Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch joined for a cover of their 1997 single ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’.Webster ended this portion of the set with a cover of The Real Thing’s ‘You to Me Are Everything’ – he added that the band were invited to join him onstage but were not in attendance that night.A notable figure who was in attendance, however, was ‘The Royle Family’ actor Ricky Tomlinson, who gave a rousing speech about his hometown Liverpool prior to the band’s performance, which began with ‘Voice of the Voiceless’.@JamieWebster94 @RickyTomlinson_ unbelievable words.
