Melissa Peterman To Reunite With Reba McEntire, Joins NBC Comedy Pilot Alongside Belissa Escobedo
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Melissa Peterman is reuniting with Reba McEntire in the latter’s as-yet-untitled NBC multi-cam comedy pilot alongside Blue Beetle star Belissa Escobedo.
Peterman and McEntire co-starred in the country legend’s eponymous TV series from 2001 to 2007 from executive producers Kevin Abbott, Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis, who are also back together for the new project alongside new addition, Julie Abbott.
The project is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. The pilot follows Bobbie (McIntyre) who inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had.
Peterman will portray Gabby, a bartender who has worked at the tavern for quite some time. She is a bit needy and dramatic and would have loved to be Bobbie’s sister.
