Meghan Markle made Prince Harry look very "awkward" with a "failed" gesture during their visit to New York City this week, a body language expert has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex travelled to NYC on Tuesday, October 10 to host their first in-person Archewell event, which was a parents summit as a part of Project Healthy Minds' to mark World Mental Health Day.During their visit, the couple met with parents who had lost their children as a result of mental health challenges that had been tied back to social media use.A video from the event which was shared to TikTok showed the Sussexes greeting their guests, the Mirror reports.After the duchess, 42, spoke to one woman, a man walked past and leaned in to shake Harry's hand.However, Meghan awkwardly interrupted this as she stepped forward and embraced him instead.Body language expert Judi James said this is not the first time the couple have slipped up in public as they seem to be prone to making awkward mistakes.Speaking to the Mirror, she said: "It's always trickier than it looks for royals getting the choreography right in public and it takes a lot of work making visits and appearances look as smooth as the Firm do."Now they have non-royal status Harry and Meghan seem more prone to small choreography 'fails' like this and it seems from this clip and the one at the Kevin Costner event that it's Meghan who steps up to take the lead."Judi added that Meghan's impulsive gesture left "Harry looking a bit awkward here".
