Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are known for their frequent hand-holding - a clear departure from the usual formality seen in Royal relationships.
While there's no official Royal rule against it, Prince William and Kate Middleton are rarely seen holding hands or showing public affection.Since Meghan joined the family, the Sussexes' tactile relationship has been noticeably different from previous Royal couples.Samir Hussein, an award-winning photographer who took the famous 2020 photo of the Duke and Duchess under an umbrella, described their tactile behaviour as "unusual".
Samir, son of Anwar Hussein, a renowned photographer of the late Princess Diana, spent much of his childhood around the royals.Speaking to The Telegraph, Samir noted the change when Meghan joined the family.
He said: "It was very noticeable when Meghan came on the scene just how tactile she was, like holding the Duke's hand and being arm-in-arm, so that was quite unusual." Samir's iconic umbrella snap of the Royal couple will be showcased in a new London exhibition that traces his family's history of photographing the monarchy.
