Prince Harry and Meghan Markle erased her first names from son Archie’s birth certificate. The unprecedented move came after the boy’s birth on May 6 2019.
Little Archie’s birth was registered 11 days later, however an amendment was then made on June 5.That change removed Meghan’s first names 'Rachel Meghan' from the certificate and instead it read 'Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex'.The Sun reports that the change occurred in the midst of rumours over a rift developing between Harry, brother William and their partners.

However, it may also be viewed as Harry placing Meghan at equals with his mum. Princess Diana always used “Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales”.
