Harry was educated at Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and Eton College. He spent parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho. He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Meghan Markle shared a rare comment about her son, Prince Archie, as she and Prince Harry engaged with school children on their second day touring Colombia.The couple's first stop on day two in Bogota was at Colegio La Giralda, a renowned local school in the town of Santa Fe.

Welcomed by the school's headmaster Serafin Ordoinez, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with Vice President Francia Marquez, embarked on a brief tour of the school.This included an art session, a visit to a kindergarten class, and even tree planting on the school grounds, where Meghan assisted a five year old student named Manuela in planting a walnut tree.The students also gave the royal couple presents for Harry and Meghan's children, five year old Archie and three year old Lilibet.These included Colombian-style ponchos, personal letters, and drawings, reports the Mirror.

While visiting a nursery class, Meghan told a student in Spanish: “You’re the same age as my son Archie.” Harry also practised his Spanish, asking students their names and ages.The royals, accompanied by Colombia’s vice-president Francia Marquez, took a stroll to the school's nurturing garden.
