Meghan Markle paid tribute to her mum Doria Ragland and her aunt by naming her daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, royal commentators have suggested.The Sussexes have sparked controversy by using the Queen's intimate nickname, Lilibet, for their daughter with the likes of Princess Diana's former butler calling it "very inappropriate".
But it has been claimed the name also has a special meaning for Meghan's side of the family.Speaking on Us Weekly's Royally Us podcast, Molly Mulshine explained: “Lilly is a flower and Meghan’s mum used to call her flower and Meghan also has an aunt named Lilly who was really important in her life.”In fact, it was Meghan's great-great aunt, Lillie Evans, who shared her newborn's name.
