Meghan Markle's request to live in a certain residence in Windsor was reportedly "firmly" rejected by the late Queen, who thought it was "inappropriate".

Windsor Castle has been home to the Royal Family for nearly 1,000 years. Over the decades, the late Queen gave some of the many homes on the estate as gifts to her family members - with the monarch and Prince Philip, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson all living in Windsor in recent years.

One of these homes is the beautiful Frogmore Cottage, which was granted to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after their wedding in 2018.

However, according to rumours, the couple actually wanted a different property. According to The Times, Harry and Meghan wanted to live within the Castle itself and reported asked if "living quarters could be made available after their marriage".
