Meghan Markle enjoyed a grand reunion with Oprah Winfrey at the opening of a glitzy new bookstore. Both the Duchess of Sussex and the talk show host, who famously interviewed Meghan and Prince Harry, attended the launch of Godmothers - a new bookstore near their Montecito home.The store is the brainchild of renowned literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and cosmetics tycoon Victoria Jackson, both friends of Meghan and Oprah.
During the launch party, Meghan delivered a speech, thanking the owners for creating a space "for so many people to feel seen through the pages, either in laughter, in grief, in feeling less alone".However, as the event drew to a close, Meghan made a swift exit.
According to Town and Country, she apologised to guests, explaining: "I've got to make dinner for the kids."Meghan's appearance came a day after she and Harry attended another launch party for the store for close family and friends.
Interestingly, it appears that Harry himself inspired the name of the new store last year when his memoir was released. At a book launch in Beverley Hills, Harry thanked Jennifer, Victoria and Oprah, referring to them as his 'fairy godmothers' - a moniker that Oprah suggested should be the name of the new shop, reports the Mirror.Harry and Meghan's connection with Oprah Winfrey dates back to their 2018 wedding, where Oprah was among the esteemed guests at St George's Chapel in Windsor, donning a powder pink ensemble.
