Meghan Markle has confessed that she is "frightened" of the idea of her two young kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet using social media one day.The 42-year-old duchess opened up about her concerns for her children, aged four and two, during the Archewell Foundation's parents summit in New York this week which focused on how the online world can affect young people's mental wellbeing.
The event was held as a part of Project Healthy Minds to mark World Mental Health day on October 10, the Express reports.After listening to stories from bereaved parents who have experienced "tragic loss connected to their child's social media use", the Sussexes' took to the stage to share their own experience with social media.Meghan told the crowd: "I feel fortunate that our children are at an age, again, quite young, so this isn't in our immediate future, but I also feel frightened by how it's continuing to change."And this will be in front of us.
As they say, 'Being a parent, the days are long but the years are short.' So it worries me, but I'm also given a lot of hope and a lot of energy by the progress we've made in the last year."Meghan herself quit social media in 2018 ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry and the couple went on to form a joint online account which they deactivated after leaving the Royal Family in 2020.
