Harry was educated at Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and Eton College. He spent parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho. He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Meghan and Harry to 'benefit' from 'royal shimmer and glimmer' on UK visit, says expert

As the Queen prepares to celebrate 70 years on the throne with a series of Platinum Jubilee celebrations throughout the year, there is a lot of debate surrounding whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will join in the occasion.

But according to royal expert Pauline Maclaren, a return to the UK would be beneficial for the couple and would help reaffirm their connections with The Firm.

Speaking to the Daily Express, Professor Maclaren explained that the Sussexes could use the celebrations to “top up” their brand, though their visit could also benefit the other royals too. “I think that would benefit both brands because it would be seen as a kind of reconciliation," the royal and PR expert said.

You can sign up at the top of the page. “I think it would add to the royal celebrations to have the element of diversity reclaimed that they seem to have lost through the sort of rupture of the relationship with Meghan.” She added: “I think it would be very good for the Sussex brand as well as they really need to maintain those sort of royal connections to really validate their brand, otherwise what are they. “So because it might benefit them more than the actual Royal Family brand that might in fact encourage them to make a visit to top up their brand as it were with a little bit of royal shimmer and glimmer.” Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, stepped down as working royals in March 2020 and have since been living in California with their two children Archie and Lilibet.
