Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have earned themselves a brand new celebrity status meaning they no longer need to rely on their royal names to get them by, an expert has claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were guests at a star-studded charity event on Friday which appears to have solidified their celebrity status among the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and the host, Kevin Costner. It now seems that the Sussexes, who made their dramatic exit from 'the Firm' over three years ago now, are finally ready to completely leave their royal credentials behind once and for all.According to an expert, being royal is no longer a part of Harry and Meghan's lives and the couple who now currently reside in Montecito, California with their two kids are keen to move on, the Mirror reports.Royal expert Clive Irving, who is author of The Last Queen, has also spoken about the couple's celebrity status and potentially relinquishing their credentials.
Speaking to the Express US , Clive said: "Harry and Meghan's celebrity used to rest on the former's connection to the Royal Family, but they've now been celebrities in their own right for so long that they don't need to trade on that anymore.
That's no longer part of their lives." He also touched on how the couple turning away from the monarchy suggests that moving forward, the duchess won't attend royal events and engagements out of fear of not wanting to be "accused of embarrassing" the King, or "being a burden on the monarchy".The news comes after the Sussexes were all smiles as they reunited with a string of famous faces at The Bodyguard star Kevin Costner's One805 Live!
