Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are rumoured to be reconnecting with two senior members of the Firm in an attempt to heal their ongoing feud with his relatives.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex who now live in the US have reportedly formed a close bond with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh after suffering a tense rift with Harry's other family members since their dramatic exit from the monarchy in 2020.Despite their distance, Harry and Meghan have seemingly gotten very close to Prince Edward and his wife Sophie in a bid to patch things up with the royal family.
The senior royal couple have become increasingly popular in the last few months, especially since King Charles ascended the throne last year.Addressing the rumours, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams claims that the two couples are not known to have been close before, the Express reports.
He told the publication : "The relations between the couples have not previously been close. "According the Gyles Brandreth the late Queen hoped that Meghan and Sophie would form some sort of bond which would help her adjust to being a member of the royal family, but this was not successful. "Neither were born royal, both, especially Meghan, have suffered from press harassment.
Both had ambitions to combine being royal with other activities after joining the Royal Family and found it was not possible." He continued: "The Sussexes departure and Andrew’s disgrace has left the Royal Family with only four working members under 70 which has placed extra pressures on Edward and Sophie".Despite the Sussexes' long-standing rift with the royals, the expert stated that there is no evidence of Harry and Meghan having a fall out with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.Mr Fitzwilliams added:
