Megan Thee Stallion has revealed she was shot and had emergency surgery to save her life. The rapper, 25, took to Instagram to confirm the news on Wednesday night.

She said on Sunday she "suffered gunshot wounds" and she was rushed to hospital to get the bullets removed. Megan, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, said she is "grateful to be alive" and is expected to make a full recovery.

She wrote: "On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me."
