“Mean Girls” musical movie has come under fire on TikTok for its high amount of product placement — especially featuring e.l.f.

cosmetics.Viewers have taken to the social media platform to fume over the seemingly two-hour advertisement for the brand.“POV: The whole ‘Mean Gils’ movie,” one person captioned a clip alongside several e.l.f.

products as a song from the flick plays in the background.Commenters who saw the movie understood the TikTok and wrote: “Regina would only use the BEST like dior, charlotte tilbury, chanel.”Someone else added: “My name is regina george and i am a massive (brand) deal (for elf).”Regina George is the moniker of Reneé Rapp’s so-called “mean girl” and Queen Bee character, a role famously played by Rachel McAdams in the original 2004 film.Another user claimed that there was a “20-minute-long E.L.F ad that played before” the movie in the theater.

One person commented and confirmed the commercial, saying: “Had that long elf ad before the movie and then the movie itself was another long elf ad.”“When the ad was better than the movie…” a person chimed in. “LITERALLY me and my friends were like how long is this ad.”In a third clip, someone was hoping to drool over Chris Briney’s role of Aaron Samuels — however, they were in for a big disappointment when they saw that most of the movie was full of product placement.“POV: You go to see a one hour and 52 minute ELF makeup ad so you can get new Conrad Fisher content,” the person wrote on the video, referencing Briney’s other character from the teen romance series “The Summer I Turned Pretty.”“It’s literally MEAN GIRLS did they really need that sponsor money,” a user asked.
